My list of reforms to incorporate into my life. Ethics are purposeless unless applied. You can’t go on touting about your beliefs unless you fully practice them. Your actions are a reflection of your beliefs. Hypocrisy in action defines contradiction amongst your morals – and thus your overall personal ethic is not unified. As I discover my ideals and I make my subsequent list of reforms, I will try to make sure that they are all aligned in principal and are harmonious.
- [A] Be a steward of the environment.
- Pick up litter and properly dispose.
- Provide habitat for wildlife.
- [B] Minimize unnecessary consumption of resources.
- Digital copies of music and movies.
- Air-dry everything.
- No foamed polystyrene.
- No plastic bags.
- Do not take “free gifts” or promotional items.
- Put a “No Junk Mail” sticker on my mailbox.
- [C] Be healthy.
- Eat the best foods possible – raw, organic, local – when possible.
- At least one large bike ride per week.
- [D] Make others feel better.
Give Carmen the best possible care and love.RIP Carmen 2011.- Give Jasper the best possible care and love.
- Give random compliments and smiles.
- [E] Increase plant biodiversity.
- Grow as many plants as possible.
- Plant in bare, public places.
- [F] Do not be bored.
- [G] Create daily.
- [H] Reduce chemicals in my surrounding environment.
- Use products with minimal ingredients.
- Use homemade products in place of store-bought.
- If store-bought, use free & clear from trusted brands.
- [I] Encourage others to be more.
- [J] Travel and explore more.
- [K] Focus on positivity.
- Take pleasure in the simple things.
I am still working out the reference code I will use, but I know that I do not want to use numbers as they imply rank, and all these reforms are equally important; though I may have periods where I focus on one over the others, I will still be trying to practice them all.
